SoHK has two programmes currently in progress, with a third in a pilot phase.

SoHK for Schools

The SoHK flagship programme, a year-long programme embedded in no/low fee schools in Cape Town.

In 2024, working with 600 youth in 5 schools.

By combining an "evidence-based life skills through touch rugby" curriculum with mental health services we give vulnerable youth from under-resourced communities tools to better deal with the adverse childhood events that they have suffered, reducing the likelihood they will engage in risky or destructive social behaviours.

NxtGenMen

Piloted in September 2022, NxtGenMen is a 6-week intervention aimed at reducing violence perpetrated by men - and, in particular, to reduce violence against women.

NxtGenMen seeks to help the men who attend the programme to have more self-awareness, question unhealthy gender norms and to have an improved skill set for relationship management and conflict resolution.

The programme seeks to empower men to become gamechangers in their communities, leading the drive against violence against women through their attitudes and their actions.

NxtGenWomxn

NxtGenWomen is an intervention that will provide mental health support to women and girls.

We have successfully delivered the pilot programme with 126 girls, and are ready for phase 1 roll-out in 2024.
